The number of Preciosa Czech beads in one gram

Many websites provide tables showing the number of beads in 1, 5 and 10 grammes of Preciosa Czech beads. These figures come from the manufacturer.

I began to wonder: how many beads are there actually in 1 gramme of beads?

So, we took two samples of No. 10 first-grade Czech beads from different categories and weighed them on jewellery scales in 1-gram portions. After counting the beads, we obtained the following result for the number of beads per 1 gram, with a margin of error of +/- 3–4 beads:

If the weight of the beads isn’t specified in the pattern key, I always divide the quantity of beads given by 80, as I know for certain that the kit will contain a sufficient supply.

In most cases, embroidery pattern manufacturers also divide the quantity by 80.
