In the Live Palette of POPULAR Preciosa colours, the beads are arranged:
- by colour, from light to dark;
- by texture;
- contains about 1080 live samples of Czech beads.
These are the numbers most often used in their designs by Tela Artis, Butterfly, VDV, A-strochka and other popular brands, whose designs and keys are of a high standard.
They use beads brought in by Charivna Myt and VDV, and in most cases there are no problems purchasing these numbers. These numbers are always freely available in shops. Unlike the rare numbers, which you sometimes have to chase after – I think that’s familiar to you.
The thing is, new beads are constantly being released and I try to show them to you in my more complete Live Palettes, but they don’t always make it into the shops. More often than not, suppliers simply don’t bring them in. A more complete Live Palette of course has interesting transitions thanks to the new numbers, but it isn’t always possible to buy them.
And besides, the full Live Palette has a great many numbers that are similar to one another; new beads often duplicate the already familiar popular numbers.
As an example, these are the new numbers 63181, 382PY, 382PG, 01634, 50620, which are very close to the numbers we have long been using for bead selection, and note that they are always available for sale.

In the Palette of POPULAR bead numbers, beads are gathered that are supplied by the official suppliers in Ukraine – these are Charivna Myt and VDV. Designers, as a rule, look to these suppliers when developing bead embroidery patterns, and shops purchase beads from them.
The base is plastic. A budget option, suitable for shops where bead buyers who come to do their own selection will touch the Palette sheets with their hands. The sheets are printed on heavy paper and laminated with a thick film, which gives them greater rigidity. On the reverse side the threads are protected from tearing and the seams are concealed.
The bead sheets are easy to remove from the book and place against other samples, since they are not stitched together in a common folder as in production charts, but inserted into sleeves.
The ring binder with rings makes it possible to unbind the book and work with each sheet (embroidered with beads) separately. And, if necessary, to insert your own note sheets into it or to bind in, for example, the ARHIBIS Bead Reference Guide.
The characteristics of the series regarding bead resistance to washing, sunlight, wear and so on will help you choose colourfast beads for your work, for example for a blouse or a handbag.
In the navigator you will quickly find the number you need and see where it is located in the Palette, in which series and in which column.
In bead embroidery patterns from the VDV brand, their three-digit bead numbers are usually given, which need to be converted to the original Preciosa numbers. To convert them you: spend your own time, ask someone how to convert them, or go to the official VDV website and search in the search engine. The Palette navigator includes a full conversion of VDV numbers.
