The Living Palette of Czech bead colours is intended for:
- embroidery artists who select beads for their projects themselves
- designers who develop bead embroidery patterns.
When selecting beads, it is very convenient when the beads are grouped by colour. This is the most important difference between the Palette and mass-produced Bead Charts. For example, you search for green or blue shades of beads with your eyes across the entire mass-produced chart, whereas here you will see them on a single sheet.

What will the bead palette let you do?
- see and touch all the beads in real life, almost the entire Preciosa palette;
- you will have all the real bead samples in front of you, graded from light to dark;
- thanks to a well-thought-out arrangement of the beads by colour and structure, the bead-selection process will speed up many times over;
- you will find interchangeable bead numbers, since they will all be right in front of your eyes;
- you will be able to replace expensive and rare bead numbers with cheaper ones that are readily available for sale;
- you will not waste time visiting shops to see the beads in real life, or searching online for photos of beads that do not always reflect reality;
- you will not waste money on excess beads that do not suit your project;
- you will see the difference between «fire-polished» beads with a round hole and those with a square hole, the play of the facets.
Ready-made bead keys have already been compiled, both by colour and by structure:
- Matte
- Glass
- "Fire-polished";
- Ceramic;
- Alabaster;
- Pearl;
- Metallic;
- Dyed;
- Etc.
Textile base. Best suited to artists who select their beads themselves and to designers. It is convenient to place bead samples side by side, compare shades of colour, arrange the required number of samples in a gradient, and at the same time no creases or folds will remain on the fabric – it easily returns to its former attractive appearance. The material is gabardine 100% polyester, reinforced with interfacing in two layers. The seams on the reverse side are concealed
The bead sheets are easy to remove from the book and place against other samples, since they are not stitched together in a common folder as in production charts, but inserted into sleeves.
The ring binder, with rings, makes it possible to take the book apart and work with each sheet (embroidered with beads) separately. And, if needed, to insert your own sheets of notes or, for example, bind in the ARHIBIS Bead Reference.
The series characteristics regarding the beads' resistance to washing, sunlight, wear and so on will help you choose hard-wearing beads, for example, for a shirt or a handbag.
In the navigator you will quickly find the number you need and see where it is located in the Palette, in which series and in which column.
In embroidery patterns from the VDV brand, their three-digit bead numbers are usually given, which need to be converted into the original Preciosa numbers. To convert them you: spend your time, ask someone how to convert them, or go to the official VDV website and search in the search engine. The Palette navigator contains a full conversion of VDV numbers.
